Spanish club Real Madrid has identified a potential replacement for their Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
elchi reports, citing the publication “A Bola”, that the Madrid representative has included Anatoliy Trubin, who plays for the Portuguese club Benfica, on their transfer list.
According to the source, Real Madrid intends to continue its cooperation with Courtois. There are no disagreements between the parties, unlike the negotiations regarding Vinicius Junior’s contract. Nevertheless, the 33-year-old goalkeeper’s age and frequent injuries in recent years have prompted the club’s management to look for alternatives for the future.
It is reported that Courtois himself previously emphasized the importance of the Madrid club thinking about his successor. For this reason, the “royal club” has already begun to evaluate possible candidates.
One of the main favorites among the candidates is 24-year-old Anatoliy Trubin. The Ukrainian goalkeeper has been attracting attention for a long time with his consistent performance and high potential.
Interestingly, Trubin competes with Real Madrid’s other goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin, for a spot in the starting lineup for the Ukrainian national team.
