Zamiq Aliyev, a defender for the Azerbaijani national team who plays for the Albanian club “Egnatia”, has been granted permission to leave the country.
According to information obtained by Teleqraf, the appeal made by AFFA and relevant government agencies to the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription regarding the 25-year-old footballer, who had been called up for military service, has yielded a positive result.
The procedure to lift the travel ban on the footballer has been completed.
It should be noted that the defender, who came to Baku during the summer break, was turned back at the airport on July 8 while trying to travel to Albania to join the training camp because he was not permitted to leave the country. For this reason, his name was not included in the “Egnatia” squad list for the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
Nevertheless, the Albanian club is demanding that Zamiq Aliyev join the team as soon as possible. The footballer has been informed that if he performs well in training, his name will be included in the squad list to be submitted to UEFA for the next qualifying round.
It is worth recalling that Zamiq Aliyev, who has been wearing the “Egnatia” jersey since 2024, has a contract with the club until the summer of 2027.
