The US Department of State has announced the imposition of sanctions against 10 organizations operating in the island nation as part of the Trump administration’s policy aimed at increasing pressure on the Cuban government.
elchi reports that this was stated in a declaration on the US Department of State’s website.
“The United States will continue to use all available means to address the national security threats posed by the Cuban communist regime, as well as to support economic and political reforms that will provide the country with a better future,” the agency stated.
The State Department noted that all 10 organizations were included in the sanctions list in accordance with a US presidential executive order, which provides for the implementation of restrictive measures against individuals and entities involved in repression in Cuba, as well as activities that pose a threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.
