President Ilham Aliyev has approved an amendment to the law “On the Cultural Capital of Azerbaijan – the City of Shusha”.
“Elchi” reports that, according to the decree, it is prohibited to damage or destroy monuments located in the territory of Shusha city, to relocate them without the consent of the body (institution) determined by the relevant executive authority, as well as to carry out construction-installation, restoration, reconstruction, conservation works, or landscaping measures that violate their integrity and pose a threat to them.
With the decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev on the application of the law, the amendment to the “Charter of the Shusha City State Reserve Administration” also grants the Reserve the authority to approve the relocation of state-protected cultural assets, including monuments, located in the relevant territory, as well as the carrying out of construction-installation, restoration, reconstruction, conservation works, or landscaping measures.
