During the first half of 2026, the State Migration Service issued a total of 9,757 decisions regarding violations of rules for the stay, residence, and employment of foreigners and stateless persons in the country, as well as other relevant administrative offenses.
This was reported to elchi by the State Migration Service.
It was stated that out of the foreigners against whom administrative decisions were made, 4,852 were detained by the State Migration Service during measures taken against illegal migration. It was determined that they were residing in the country without documents granting the right to stay or reside (illegally), engaging in activities inconsistent with the declared purpose of their entry, being involved in illegal labor activities, or not residing at their registered address.
850 foreigners who violated migration legislation were administratively expelled from the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and their entry into the country was restricted for a period established by law, while the legalization of the stay of others in the country or their voluntary departure was ensured.
During this period, 4 cases of organizing illegal migration in the country were detected. Investigations revealed attempts to bring foreigners into the country for various purposes and, after their arrival, to provide them with work and temporary residence permits through illegal means. The evidence collected regarding these cases has been sent to the relevant law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
The State Migration Service continues its measures against illegal migration without interruption.
