During the 40-day war with the US, Iran created more modern weapons.
elchi reports that this was announced by the spokesperson of the Iranian Armed Forces and Brigadier General Akrami Niya.
“For example, in the final days of the war, we used new unmanned aerial vehicles and were able to deploy them in combat conditions,” he emphasized.
According to the general, improved missiles of higher quality were used at the level of the Armed Forces, the army, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC):
“This shows that despite using existing equipment, we have not forgotten about the field of research and development.”
It should be recalled that on February 28, the US and Israel launched military operations against Iran, and airstrikes were carried out on a number of cities. On that same day, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed as a result of the strikes. In response, Iran attacked Israeli territory and US military bases in Persian Gulf countries.
Iran, the US, and their allies reached a ceasefire agreement on the night of April 8. Trump later extended the ceasefire indefinitely.
The parties held negotiations in Pakistan to resolve the conflict, but the first round held on April 11-12 yielded no results.
A memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran was signed digitally on June 18 by the leaders of both countries – Masoud Pezeshkian and Donald Trump. Although negotiations regarding the clauses of the document were subsequently held in Switzerland, control over the Strait of Hormuz was not fully agreed upon, as two clashes occurred between the parties after the agreement.
