Iran issues statement condemning US airstrikes

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an official statement condemning the airstrikes carried out by the US on facilities located on the country’s southern coast.

elchi reports that the ministry noted that Washington’s actions are contrary to both the UN Charter and the memorandum of understanding signed on June 18 aimed at halting military operations.

“The strikes on Iran’s coastal surveillance facilities are a clear violation of Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the UN Charter, as well as the first paragraph of the memorandum of understanding on the cessation of hostilities,” the statement said.

At the same time, Iran also accused Israel of attacking Lebanon. Tehran claimed that this attack was carried out in coordination with the US and violated the terms of the agreements reached.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also appealed to the countries located on the southern shores of the Persian Gulf, calling on them to adhere to the principle of good neighborliness and not to allow their territories to be used for strikes against Iran.
