US President Donald Trump is preparing for a visit to India early next year.
elchi reports that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated this in an interview with the Indian news agency IANS.
According to Rubio, he plans to travel to India by the end of 2026 to prepare for the President’s visit.
Rubio noted that US-India relations are at a high level following the recent meeting between Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G7 summit. He stated that final negotiations on a bilateral trade agreement between the US and India are underway.
“India is a very close partner and ally of the US. The relationship between the Prime Minister and the President is also at the highest level, which I think is extremely important from a diplomatic perspective,” he emphasized.
It should be noted that Donald Trump last visited India in February 2020.
