Vance announced that technical talks between the US and Iran are ongoing

Technical talks between Iran and the US are continuing in Bürgenstock.

elchi reports that US Vice President J.D. Vance stated this to journalists before departing from Switzerland.

According to him, a portion of both countries’ delegations remained in Switzerland to continue the negotiations.

“Overall, it was a very productive 36 hours,” Vance said.

It should be recalled that on the night of June 18, Iran and the US digitally signed a memorandum of understanding providing for the end of the military conflict that began on February 28.

On June 21, the first round of peace talks between the US and Iran was held in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, mediated by Qatar and Pakistan. The US delegation was led by Vice President J.D. Vance and Donald Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. On the Iranian side, the negotiations were conducted by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

The parties agreed to continue technical consultations until the end of the week and to establish a high-level committee to oversee the negotiation process.
