The Curacao national team has been officially entered into the Guinness World Records.
elchi reports that the island nation has set a record as the country with the smallest population to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Curacao’s population is 156,115, which is considered the lowest figure in the history of World Cups.
The Guinness World Records has presented the certificate regarding this to the president of the Curacao Football Federation, Gilbert Martina.
It should be noted that the Curacao national team has reached the final stage of the World Cup for the first time in its history. In their first match of the tournament, the team lost to Germany with a score of 1:7. The Curacaoans will play their next group matches against Ecuador on June 21 and against the Ivory Coast national team on June 25.
