On June 17, the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, Kamran Aliyev, met with a delegation led by Yousef Aldobeay, Assistant Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Welcoming the guests, the Prosecutor General stated that independent Azerbaijan has always made significant contributions to the activities of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which carries the mission of strengthening Islamic solidarity and supporting cooperation among Islamic countries in science, culture, social, economic, and other various fields.
It was noted that the development of cooperation with the Islamic world holds a special place in the foreign policy course determined by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
Numerous international projects implemented at the initiative of Azerbaijan, prestigious events organized in our country, and initiatives put forward have made significant contributions to the strengthening of Islamic solidarity and the expansion of mutual trust and cooperation among Muslim countries.
It was emphasized that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has always supported the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that our state demonstrates a firm position in discussions regarding the problems of the Islamic world within the framework of the OIC, in the adoption of decisions and resolutions, and shows initiative in fulfilling the tasks facing the organization.
As one of the active members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, our country also closely cooperates with various institutions of the organization, such as ICESCO, the Islamic Development Bank, the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, etc.
First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and ICESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva has made a great contribution to the protection of cultural and historical values in the territories of Islamic countries. Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, has actively participated in various events of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).
Furthermore, the Prosecutor General provided information about the preparations for the third high-level meeting of heads of law enforcement agencies of OIC member states fighting against corruption, which will be held in Baku on October 27-28, 2026.
Yousef Aldobeay, Assistant Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality and conveyed the greetings of OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha.
He stated that Azerbaijan stands out for its activity among the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and makes significant contributions to the unity of Muslim countries and Islamic solidarity.
The Assistant Secretary-General emphasized that Azerbaijan is recognized as one of the most active, proactive, and influential states among the members of the organization. The initiatives put forward by our country within the framework of the OIC and the work done to promote the goals and principles of the organization are highly appreciated by the member states.
It was noted that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has consistently supported the rightful position of our country during Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan and the past conflict period, and has always supported the efforts aimed at restoring Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Assistant Secretary-General stated that the OIC stood by Azerbaijan during the Patriotic War and the subsequent period, and that the restoration and reconstruction processes carried out in the liberated territories are followed by the organization with great interest and appreciation. He highly valued the steps taken by Azerbaijan towards strengthening peace, security, and cooperation in the region.
Yousef Aldobeay also noted that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation considers Azerbaijan a reliable partner and one of the leading member states in the direction of strengthening Islamic solidarity. Azerbaijan’s continuous support for the organization’s activities is highly appreciated, and the OIC, in turn, is interested in further expanding cooperation with our country.
It was specifically emphasized that Azerbaijan will host the 16th Islamic Summit of the OIC in 2027.
The Assistant Secretary-General expressed his confidence that the 16th Islamic Summit, which will be hosted by Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, will be one of the important events in the history of the organization, and will make a significant contribution to further strengthening solidarity among member states, developing mutual cooperation, and discussing current issues facing the Islamic world.
