The President’s representative for climate issues, Mukhtar Babayev, met with the Director of the Uganda Development Bank, Patricia Ojangole, in Baku within the framework of the 51st Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, and discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation with African countries.
“Elchi” reports that M. Babayev shared this information on his “X” social media account.
“We discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation with African countries through investments, development financing, and partnerships in the fields of renewable energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and sustainable economic growth,” he wrote.
It was noted that Africa is playing an increasingly important role in the global climate agenda:
“We exchanged views on advancing the implementation of COP29 outcomes and expanding climate finance to support sustainable development, resilience, and energy transition efforts across the continent.”
