The US plans major cuts to NATO’s European operations

The US is reportedly planning to significantly reduce the number of fighter jets and warships allocated to NATO’s operations in Europe. According to the New York Times, citing two senior European officials, this decision will limit NATO’s long-range strike and surveillance capabilities.
“Elchi” reports that the plan includes reducing the number of F-16 and F-15E fighter jets in Europe from approximately 150 to 100.
The number of maritime patrol aircraft will be reduced from 26 to 15, and all eight tanker aircraft previously stationed in Europe will be withdrawn.
The report also states that the goal of the plan is to redeploy submarines and aircraft carriers capable of launching missiles, as well as the numerous warships and fighter jets involved in their missions.
It was also noted that one of the two bomber groups designated to defend Europe could be relocated to another region.
