MIA has issued an appeal regarding illegally held weapons

On June 8, police officers discovered and seized 5 automatic weapons, 3 pistols, 1 grenade, 6 rifles, 2 magazines, and 100 cartridges of various calibers in the capital and various districts of the republic.

Information about this was provided to elchi by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The MIA once again reminded citizens of the importance of voluntarily handing over illegally held firearms and ammunition to police authorities.

“Illegally held weapons and ammunition can lead to accidents, serious crimes, and pose serious threats to human life. Citizens are requested to immediately inform the police if they encounter such situations and to support the maintenance of public safety. According to the legislation, persons who voluntarily hand over illegally held firearms and ammunition to police authorities are exempt from relevant liability,” the statement noted.
