Roberto Sanchez, the candidate of the leftist “Together for Peru” party, is leading Keiko Fujimori of the conservative “Popular Force” in the second round of the presidential election.
“Elchi” reports, citing “Reuters”, that official data released in Peru shows this.
It is noted that according to the results of processing 93.2% of the votes, Sanchez received 50.008% and Fujimori received 49.992% of the votes. After the voting ended on Sunday, Fujimori was leading by a significant margin, but as the votes were counted, including those from Peru’s rural regions, Sanchez gained the advantage.
