The US Armed Forces command in the Indian Ocean has seized the sanctioned oil tanker “Davina”.
“Elchi” reports, citing the “Reuters” agency, that this was stated in the command’s post on the “X” social network.
According to the information, the ship is not officially registered in any country.
The US side has declared that it will continue maritime patrols to prevent the activities of illegal networks and to intercept ships providing financial support to Iran.
“International waterways cannot be used to cover up the activities of sanctioned entities,” the agency emphasized.
The “Davina” supertanker, also known as “Lenor”, has the capacity to carry up to two million barrels of crude oil. According to ship tracking system data, it was used for the transport of Iranian oil in October 2024.
