NATO forward land forces headquarters to be established in Finland

The NATO forward land forces headquarters in Rovaniemi, Finland, will begin operations on June 6.

elchi reports that the Finnish Ministry of Defense has announced this information.

“At the beginning of the government’s term, we declared our goal to form a NATO forward land forces headquarters in Finland. Since then, progress has been rapid, and tomorrow the NATO forward land forces headquarters in Finland will be officially established,” the agency quoted the republic’s Minister of Defense, Antti Häkkänen, as saying.

The core of the headquarters will consist of 600 military personnel from Sweden. Great Britain, France, Italy, Denmark, and Iceland will also participate in staffing the unit.
