As a result of an explosion in a market in South Waziristan, in northwestern Pakistan, three people died and four were injured.
“Elchi” reports that police stated an improvised explosive device was used in the attack at a market in Wana, the capital of South Waziristan, in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a tribal area near the Afghan border.
South Waziristan Police Chief Muhammad Tahir stated that three people, including a leader of the Ahmadzai tribe whose vehicle was targeted, died and four others were injured.
Tahir added that an investigation into the incident has been launched.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack targeting the leader of the Ahmadzai tribe, which makes up more than 60 percent of the region’s population.
