The State Examination Center (SEC) has addressed the winners of international and national subject olympiads, international competitions, and contests.
According to the information provided to “Elchi” by the SEC, in accordance with the Decision of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 229 dated May 20, 2019, winners of international and national subject olympiads, international competitions, and contests are admitted to higher education institutions without competition.
Winners of international and national subject olympiads, international competitions, and contests refer to individuals awarded gold, silver, or bronze medals in international subject olympiads, individuals who took first, second, or third place in the national subject olympiad held among grades IX-XI, and individuals who have been laureates (grand prize, first, second, and third places) of an international competition or contest (in the age group over 15).
According to the information, a winner of an international or national subject olympiad has the right to be admitted to a higher education institution without competition only once within the next 2 academic years after completing the full secondary education level, while a winner of an international competition or contest has this right within the next 5 academic years after completing the full secondary education level and achieving the victory.
It was stated that the specialties for which admission without competition is conducted, the list of international and national subject olympiads, and the list of international competitions and contests are reflected in the Decision of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 229 dated May 20, 2019.
Winners of international and national subject olympiads, international competitions, and contests, as well as those who have not yet submitted their relevant documents to the SEC, must submit a copy of the “Applicant’s electronic application” form approved in the general order, a photocopy of the document confirming that they are a winner of an international subject olympiad, national subject olympiad, international competition, or contest, and information about the country where the relevant event was held, the date, and the official website reflecting the results to the State Examination Center or its regional divisions between May 13 and June 30.
