In the last 2 years, 644 facilities have been leased for entrepreneurial activities in the city of Khankendi, as well as in the Aghdara and Khojaly districts.
elchi reports that the President’s special representative in the region, Elchin Yusubov, stated this today at the National Business Development Forum held in the city of Khankendi.
At the forum, discussions were held regarding the development of entrepreneurship, the investment climate, tax and incentive mechanisms, as well as the expansion of business activities in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions, and entrepreneurs’ questions were answered.
E. Yusubov noted that the main goal of the projects implemented in the region is not only the restoration of infrastructure, but also ensuring sustainable economic development, creating new jobs, and promoting private investment.
According to him, state support for the development of entrepreneurship in the liberated territories is one of the main directions of this process:
“During this period, investors have invested more than 100 million manats in the region. Approximately 4,000 people have been employed in the facilities that have started operations. It is expected that the number of jobs will reach 6,000 after other facilities under existing contracts are put into operation. Currently, about 34,000 people reside in the region. A portion of them have been provided with employment in the private sector.”
