According to the information, during the telephone conversation, both leaders reaffirmed that the existing fraternal and strategic relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are at a high level.
The parties noted with satisfaction the continuous expansion of cooperation in a number of key areas, including energy, trade, and people-to-people ties.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan emphasized the importance of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be held in Baku. He stated that Azerbaijan’s hosting of this global event makes a significant contribution to the development of the world urban planning agenda.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked him for the attention paid to the forum and noted that WUF13 is an important platform for discussing international urban planning issues.
Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif noted that his personal participation in the event is not possible, but that he has ensured that Pakistan is represented at a high level at the forum.
During the telephone conversation, the parties exchanged views on regional processes, especially the situation in the Middle East.
President Ilham Aliyev highly appreciated Pakistan’s mediation role and its efforts to ensure a ceasefire between the parties to the conflict. The head of state stated that this activity is an indicator of the strong international trust in the Pakistani leadership.
The parties agreed to continue contacts with the aim of further deepening relations.
