Distortion of Azerbaijan’s map on a Russian channel… – MFA

The broadcast of a distorted map of Azerbaijan on the Russian state-owned “Channel One” program “Time Will Tell” (“Vremya pokazhet”) on May 6, and the inclusion of the non-existent term “Nagorno-Karabakh” on the map, is a serious provocation and an unacceptable political manipulation.

elchi reports that this was stated by Aykhan Hajizada, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan, while answering a question from local media.

According to him, Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity have been fully restored, and this reality is recognized by the international community, including Russia:

“The circulation of outdated, fake, and separatism-promoting narratives on the state television of the Russian Federation—a country that has declared its respect for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and stated that this has never been called into question—is clearly contrary to the spirit of Azerbaijan-Russia relations, mutual respect, and good-neighborly relations. The irresponsible and biased approach of state-owned media resources is unacceptable, and it is expected that the other side will provide a clear explanation regarding this issue and take the necessary measures to ensure that such incidents do not recur.”
