It is projected that the current account surplus in 2026 and 2027 will be around 5.5 and 4.4 billion US dollars, respectively. The main reason for this is the upward revision of the average annual price of 1 barrel of oil and 1000 cubic meters of gas by the Central Bank.
elchi reports that Central Bank Governor Taleh Kazimov stated this at a press conference regarding the decision on interest rate corridor parameters.
He noted that the average annual price of oil is projected to be 84.5 dollars in 2026. The price of 1000 cubic meters of gas is expected to be 324 dollars. These figures are projected to be at the level of 74.5 and 290 dollars for 2027.
