Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey trade unions is expanding

A meeting was held at the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC) with a delegation from the Kamu-Sen Trade Unions Confederation of Turkey.

“Elchi” reports that Sahib Mammadov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, noted that the relations between the two countries, based on strong historical roots and common values, have risen to the level of a strategic alliance. He stated that the personal friendship and joint efforts of the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the President of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, are among the main factors determining the further strengthening and development of these ties.

The Confederation Chairman said that the relations between the trade unions of the two countries are developing dynamically, and emphasized that mutual visits, joint events, and the exchange of experience contribute significantly to the further strengthening of relations.

At the meeting, the guests were informed about the work done and projects implemented in the areas of protecting labor rights, ensuring decent working conditions, protecting the health of members, as well as the effective organization of their treatment and recreation.

Onder Kahveci, Chairman of Turkey’s Kamu-Sen Trade Unions Confederation, spoke about the work his organization is doing to protect the labor rights of civil servants and improve their working conditions. Onder Kahveci noted the importance of implementing joint projects and coordinated activities on international trade union platforms.

The parties exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest and discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation.
