Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed Sergey Melikov from the post of Head of the Republic of Dagestan.

“To accept the resignation of the Head of the Republic of Dagestan, Melikov S.A., at his own request,” the decree states.

Fedor Shukin has been appointed as the acting head of the vacant post in Dagestan. Previously, he served as the chairman of the Supreme Court of Dagestan.
