MES has issued an appeal regarding rainy and unstable weather

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued an appeal to the public regarding the rainy and unstable weather conditions expected in some areas.

“Elchi” reports, citing the MES, that the appeal states:

“According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, intensive rain is forecast in separate regions until May 7, with short-term floods expected in some mountain rivers, lightning, and intermittent strong winds in a number of areas. Taking the aforementioned into account, the Ministry of Emergency Situations once again reminds the public of the relevant safety rules. Thus, to protect against floods and flash floods that may be caused by intensive rainfall, it is recommended to stay away from flood-prone areas and, if faced with this danger, to immediately move to nearby high ground. At the same time, to protect against lightning-related hazards, it is necessary to disconnect electrical appliances from the network, avoid using phones (landline, mobile, payphones, etc.), and while outdoors, avoid approaching power lines, lightning rods, gutters, and antennas, avoid taking shelter under tall trees, and choose relatively low-lying areas for this purpose; if in a car, stop the vehicle, roll up the windows, and wait for the lightning to pass.

It is also recommended to stay away from light structures and temporary buildings, buildings, and billboards during strong winds, and not to stand under utility poles, wires, or tall trees.

In addition, considering the difficulties caused by strong winds in extinguishing fires, fire safety rules must be strictly observed during windy weather conditions. Furthermore, small vessel operators should keep in mind that going out to sea is prohibited under such weather conditions. Remember, indifference to the rules is a danger to our lives!”

MES has recommended calling 112 in case of danger.
