The attack by the Israeli armed forces in international waters on the ‘Global Sumud Flotilla’, which was created to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, is an act of piracy.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated in a declaration by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
“The attack by the Israeli armed forces in international waters on the ‘Global Sumud Flotilla’, which was created to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, is an act of piracy,” the statement said, adding that the attack on the flotilla, which seeks to draw attention to the humanitarian catastrophe experienced by the residents of Gaza, is contrary to international law:
“All necessary initiatives are being carried out regarding the situation of Turkish citizens and other passengers on the flotilla.”
It should be noted that the Israeli Navy has seized some of the ships of the flotilla heading to the Gaza Strip. The Turkish MFA previously stated that necessary steps are being taken regarding the Turkish citizens on the ‘Global Sumud Flotilla’.
