Europe will not return to normal relations with Russia even after the conflict in Ukraine ends.
elchi reports that the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, stated this on April 30 during a press conference with the foreign ministers of the Baltic and Nordic countries. Her remarks were published on the website of the European External Action Service.
“We are all in agreement here: it will not be possible to return to ‘business as usual’ with Russia even after Moscow ends the conflict in Ukraine. Next month in Cyprus, EU foreign ministers will continue to discuss our approach to Russia and how best to protect our security interests,” she noted.
Kallas also accused Russia of “hybrid attacks” that have allegedly reached an “incredible scale.” She called on Europeans to tighten sanctions against Russia, “hold Moscow accountable,” ensure Russia’s “international isolation,” and close the borders of European countries to Russian military personnel.
