China does not supply air defense (AD) systems and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to Iran.
elchi reports that this was stated by Zhang Xiaogang, the official representative of the Ministry of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China.
“We have answered such questions many times and are against the spread of inaccurate information,” the official representative emphasized while answering a journalist’s question during a briefing. The journalist asked the Chinese side to confirm information that it was allegedly “supplying air defense systems and drones to Tehran, as well as preparing to supply them to Iraq” against the backdrop of the armed conflict between Iran and the US.
The official representative clarified that China maintains military-to-military relations with Iraq in a friendly atmosphere. Zhang Xiaogang noted that the PRC controls the export of military products, “promotes cooperation with friendly countries, and plays a constructive role in ensuring regional and global peace and stability.”
