US President Donald Trump made several jokes about British monarch King Charles III and called Great Britain a small kingdom.
“Elchi” reports that at the beginning of his speech at the welcoming ceremony for the British royal couple at the White House, he also made mocking remarks about King Charles III’s accent.
“You are going to Congress to give a speech that will make everyone jealous of your beautiful accent,” the American leader said.
Trump also noted that he does not plan to visit the Capitol in person, intending to watch the King’s speech from afar.
Then, speaking about the historical ties between the US and Great Britain, he called the kingdom “small.” Furthermore, recalling his mother, the president said that the future king was in love with her when he was still Prince Charles.
“Look, young Charles, he is very handsome. My mother loved Charles, can you believe it?” Trump said.
It was reported that those present greeted his words with loud laughter.
