Putin told Trump that a ground operation in Iran is unacceptable

During a phone conversation, Russian President Vladimir Putin told American leader Donald Trump that carrying out a ground operation in Iran is unacceptable and dangerous.

“Elchi” reported, citing Russian media, that this was announced by the Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

“The Russian President drew attention to the inevitable and extremely destructive consequences that would arise not only for Iran and its neighbors but also for the entire international community if the US and Israel resume military actions. Of course, the option of a ground operation on Iranian territory seems completely unacceptable and dangerous,” Ushakov noted.

According to him, Putin told Trump that Russia is determined to provide comprehensive support for diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis peacefully, putting forward a number of considerations regarding Iran’s nuclear program.

“To this end, active contacts will be continued with Iranian representatives, leaders of the Persian Gulf countries, as well as the Israeli and American negotiating teams,” the Russian Presidential aide added.
