Their tuition fees will be paid from the state budget

The tuition fees of children of those who died during mine clearance operations will be paid from the state budget.

“Elchi” reports, citing APA, that this is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Law “On Education” discussed at today’s session of the Milli Majlis.

According to the draft, the tuition fees of children of mine clearers who died or lost their lives due to an accident involving the detonation of explosive ordnance while carrying out mine clearance activities, and who are studying at state, municipal, or private higher, secondary specialized, and vocational education institutions, will be covered by the state budget for the duration of their paid education (excluding additional education) in educational institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to the transitional provisions, the amendments, which are planned to be applied from September 15, 2026, will also apply to the children (up to the age of 23) of mine clearers who died or lost their lives due to injuries sustained while carrying out mine clearance activities before the date this law enters into force.
After the discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the third reading.
