One-time financial assistance will be provided to World War II veterans

One-time financial assistance will be provided to persons who participated in the Second World War in 1941–1945, widows of soldiers who died or subsequently passed away, and persons awarded orders and medals for their selfless labor on the home front.

“Elchi” reports that President Ilham Aliyev has signed a Decree regarding this.

According to the Decree, one-time financial assistance in the amount of 2,750.0 (two thousand seven hundred and fifty) manats will be provided to persons who participated in the Second World War in 1941–1945, and in the amount of 1,500.0 (one thousand five hundred) manats to widows of soldiers who died or subsequently passed away in the Second World War, persons awarded orders and medals for their selfless labor on the home front during that period, employees of special units who performed tasks for the benefit of the army and navy within the rear boundaries of combat fronts or operational zones of fighting fleets during the Second World War, persons awarded the relevant medal and badge for the defense of the city of Leningrad during the Second World War, as well as participants in the siege of Leningrad.

In this regard, 3.0 (three) million manats have been allocated from the reserve fund of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan provided for in the 2026 state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to the Decree, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan must ensure the transfer of the provided funds to the special account of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan must ensure the payment of the one-time financial assistance to the persons provided for in the 1st part of this Decree, and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan must resolve issues arising from this Decree.
