Pashinyan spoke again about Armenia’s withdrawal from the CSTO

“Armenia’s final withdrawal from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) depends on the circumstances.”

“Elchi” reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this during a meeting with journalists.

“Whether we withdraw de jure and permanently is another matter. I cannot say that yet. Therefore, we will act according to the situation,” he said.

Pashinyan also reiterated that his election platform did not include steps regarding the freezing of Armenia’s membership in the organization. The Prime Minister did not disclose what circumstances could force Armenia to take such a step.

During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 1, Nikol Pashinyan explained the reason for Armenia’s non-participation in the CSTO. He stated that this was due to his inability to explain to the country’s citizens why the association did not react during the Karabakh crisis.
