Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with a delegation led by Zhuang Rongwen, Minister of the Cyberspace Administration of China, who is on a visit to our country.

Recalling her participation in the annual conference of the Boao Forum for Asia last month, Sahiba Gafarova highly appreciated the meeting she held with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, in terms of the development of inter-parliamentary relations, and noted that an exchange of views took place during the talks on expanding cooperation in new directions.
During the conversation, information was also provided on the digital transformation policy implemented in Azerbaijan.
It was also emphasized at the meeting that in the modern era, cybersecurity is an important component of the national security of countries and this area should always be kept in the spotlight.
Zhuang Rongwen stated that his country attaches great importance to equal and mutually beneficial cooperation with Azerbaijan. Providing detailed information about China’s achievements in the field of information technology in recent years, the minister said that his country is ready to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in areas such as the internet, cybersecurity, digital economy, artificial intelligence, and other important directions.
Highly appreciating the work done in this field in Azerbaijan, as well as the fact that more than 90 percent of the country’s population has access to the internet, the guest stated that the results achieved in this direction are satisfactory.
During the conversation, the parties expressed their confidence that the relations between Azerbaijan and China, based on true friendship and mutual respect, will continue to develop successfully in all directions for the well-being of the peoples.
