Mass inspections launched in schools in Azerbaijan

Mass inspections have been launched among high school students in schools across several districts of Azerbaijan.

“Elchi” reports that the inspections mainly cover educational institutions located in Absheron, Sumgayit, and surrounding areas.

Security personnel are checking students’ bags and personal belongings in schools to investigate the presence of prohibited items. These items include sharp objects, tobacco products, and other dangerous materials.

In recent days, teachers have been appealing to parents, recommending that they check their children’s bags before they go to school. It is stated that these measures are related to the recent increase in incidents occurring in schools.

As part of the surprise inspections, inspectors for juvenile affairs enter classrooms during lessons to conduct searches on students. Students found with prohibited items are set aside for further discussion, and the school administration and parents are immediately informed about the incident.

It should be recalled that a few days ago, a 9th-grade student at secondary school No. 286 in Baku poured alcohol on a classmate and set them on fire. After the incident, the school administration immediately called an ambulance, and after first aid was provided to the victim, they were hospitalized.

The suspect in the case has been detained by the police, and a preventive measure of arrest has been chosen by the court’s decision.
