A telephone conversation took place between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
“Elchi” reports that this was announced by the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications on its “X” social media account.
“The leaders discussed Turkish-German bilateral relations as well as regional and global processes,” the statement said, adding that Erdogan recalled that Turkish-German relations have developed through high-level contacts carried out in recent times.
It was emphasized that the war in the Middle East is also weakening Europe: “Unless this course of events is intervened with a peace-oriented approach, the damage caused by the conflict process will be greater,” Erdogan was quoted as saying.
He stated that Turkey is making efforts to end conflicts through negotiations and achieve lasting peace in the Russia-Ukraine war, just as it has done in the case of Iran.
