Spain’s honorary consulate opened in Yerevan

The opening ceremony of Spain’s honorary consulate has been held in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.

“Elchi” reports, citing Armenian media, that Ashot Parsyan, the honorary consul of Spain and Guatemala in Armenia, noted that the main mission of the consulate is not only to support Spanish citizens but also to strengthen economic and cultural ties between the two countries.

In his opinion, the simplification of the visa regime with Spain will make a significant contribution to the development of the Armenian economy and will ensure freer movement of people by activating bilateral visits.

“Spaniards have no problems visiting Armenia. The liberalization of the visa regime is also important for Armenian citizens, especially for our business people who will be able to conduct business more freely in European countries,” he noted.

According to Ricardo Martinez Vazquez, the Spanish ambassador to Armenia, a direct air connection between Yerevan and Alicante will be established this summer:

“I am sure that this will help strengthen long-term relations between Armenia and Spain,” the diplomat said.
