Media: Iran’s decision not to participate in talks remains unchanged

Iran still refuses to participate in the upcoming round of talks with the US, which was scheduled to be held in Islamabad in the coming days.

“Elchi” reports that “Tasnim News” has provided information on this, citing a source.

It is stated that despite the statement by US President Donald Trump regarding the departure of Vice President J.D. Vance and other members of the US delegation to Pakistan, Iran’s decision not to participate in the talks has not changed so far.

It is noted that Iran’s participation depends on the fulfillment of certain preconditions. According to the agency, the issue of the naval blockade of Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz is a very serious obstacle to the negotiations.

However, apart from the issue of the naval blockade, the Americans’ message exchange also contains other gross errors that do not show clear prospects for the upcoming talks. Thus, until some fundamental obstacles are removed and clear prospects are formed for reaching an agreement acceptable to Iran, there is no basis for participating in the negotiations.
