There is a need to learn the Azerbaijani language in Russia.
elchi reports, citing Report, that Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexei Overchuk stated this at the meeting of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council in Baku.
“We know how much care is taken for the Russian language in Azerbaijan – it is taught in schools. We also see the interest in strengthening ties between our universities. Yesterday, the issue of establishing a new Russia-Azerbaijan university within the framework of cooperation with Saint Petersburg State University was discussed,” A. Overchuk noted.
According to him, topics of mutual cooperation in the field of spreading the Russian language were also discussed.
“However, on our part, we understand that there is a need to learn the Azerbaijani language in Russia as well, and we will help with this. In addition, we invited the Republic of Azerbaijan to consider the possibility of joining the International Organization for the Russian Language,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
