The Chinese-owned tanker “Rich Starry”, which is under US sanctions, has passed through the Strait of Hormuz despite the blockade announced by US President Donald Trump.
elchi reports that this was announced by the “Mash” Telegram channel.
It is noted that the ship, owned by the Chinese company “Shanghai Xuanrun Shipping Co. Ltd”, was placed on the sanctions list for cooperation with Iran. According to the channel, this was the first ship to enter the Strait of Hormuz and exit the Persian Gulf after the Americans blocked the route. It is carrying approximately 250,000 barrels of methanol and its crew consists of Chinese nationals.
According to Mash, another sanctioned ship, “Murlikishan”, which previously transported Russian and Iranian oil, is currently heading towards the strait. The tanker is expected to stop in Iraq on April 16 to load fuel oil.
