Monitoring measures were carried out in the water area of the Caspian Sea, approximately 3 km from the coast, with the joint participation of the State Service for Water Use and Protection Control under the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan (ADSEA) and employees of the Water Transport Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Within the framework of the measures, water samples were taken from various depths using modern devices and equipment, and the initial quality indicators of the water were checked on-site.
In addition, a visual inspection of the areas was carried out to assess the harmful effects of enterprises and organizations located in the coastal zone on the Caspian Sea. Also, water samples taken from the sea were submitted to the Central Laboratory to determine the amount of pollutants in their composition.
Based on the results of the analyses and assessments, the physical-chemical indicators, pollution level, and ecological status of the water will be evaluated, and in case any violations are detected, appropriate legal measures will be taken against the responsible persons.
