Floods in Dagestan: 500 houses submerged

Due to floods in Dagestan, more than 500 people are staying in temporary accommodation centers.

elchi reports that the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has released information regarding this.

“More than 500 houses have been submerged in seven settlements of the Republic of Dagestan. 544 people, including 182 children, are living in temporary accommodation centers.

There are no flooded areas or facilities in the Chechen Republic,” the statement said.

According to the ministry, the disinfection of wells has currently begun in Dagestan:

“Since April 11, 100 rescuers and 30 pieces of equipment from the Don Rescue Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have been working in the Derbent district. Another 100 specialists and 28 pieces of equipment from the Tula Rescue Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are expected to arrive in the Khasavyurt district. Our main goal now is to provide comprehensive support to the population.”

It should be noted that since the beginning of April, floods have occurred in various parts of the Republic of Dagestan. The government of Dagestan has declared a state of emergency in Makhachkala, Khasavyurt, Buynaksk, Kaspiysk, and several districts of the region.
