Iran has threatened to strike all economic centers in the Middle East if US and Israeli attacks do not cease.
“Elchi” reports that Al Jazeera reported this, citing a statement by General Ebrahim Jabbari of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
“We warn the enemy: if it decides to strike our main centers, we will strike all economic centers in the region,” Jabbari said.
He also noted that Iran is already putting pressure on the economy by closing the Strait of Hormuz.
“We have closed the Strait of Hormuz. Now the price of oil exceeds 80 dollars and will soon reach 200 dollars,” Jabbari stated.
Al Jazeera noted that approximately one-fifth of the world’s oil trade, as well as significant volumes of liquefied natural gas exports from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Approximately 20% of the world’s daily oil consumption, which amounts to approximately 20 million barrels per day, is transported through this maritime corridor.
