The first meeting of the Working Group established to update the “Classification of Specialties in Vocational Education” was held at the Ministry of Science and Education.

It was reported that representatives of the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the State Tourism Agency and the State Agency for Vocational Education participated in the meeting held under the leadership of the Deputy Minister of Science and Education, Chairman of the Commission, Kenan Kerimzade.
In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Kenan Kerimzade brought to the attention of the participants the attention paid to the field of vocational education at the highest level in recent years, the systematic reforms carried out, and the expansion of the coverage of vocational education as a result. The Deputy Minister spoke about the need to improve the preparation of professional specialists in accordance with the dynamic changes in the local and global labor market, and noted that it is important to update the current document “Classification of Specialties in Vocational Education”.
Later, Sabina Babayeva, sector manager of the Ministry’s Department of Science, Higher and Vocational Education, made a presentation and talked about the structure of the “Classification of Specialties in Vocational Education”, which is currently the base document for student admission to vocational education institutions, the factors that make it necessary to update the classification, and the work done on the new classification project. Sabina Babayeva presented the new classification project to the members of the Working Group and provided information about the principles, approaches and proposed structure taken as a basis in the preparation of the project, as well as the expectations from the members of the Working Group.
Then, the proposals of the representatives of the relevant institutions were heard.
