The biggest guarantor of Azerbaijan’s security is Armenia, and the guarantor of Armenia’s security is Azerbaijan.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan.
He noted that the issue of a ‘guarantor’ is often discussed in Armenia:
“Opposition partners in the National Assembly sometimes ask, ‘Who is your guarantor? Is Azerbaijan your guarantor?’ They don’t even understand what they are talking about. At a time when new, ongoing, and deepening wars are taking place in the world, Armenia and Azerbaijan have reached a point where we must strengthen our positions. Because many forces want to involve Azerbaijan and Armenia in a war against each other, at least. This is open and clear. It is so clear that I don’t think there is a need to talk about it,” he noted.
