FIFA has released its international transfer report for 2025.
Elchi.az reports that for the first time, over $13.08 billion was spent on transfers in men’s football last year.
This figure represents an increase of more than 50% compared to 2024. A total of 86,158 international transfers took place during the year.
Records were also set in women’s football. Spending here increased by 80% to $28.6 million.
English clubs were once again the absolute market leaders. They stood out as both the biggest spenders ($3.82 billion) and the biggest earners ($1.77 billion). The most expensive transfer of the year was Alexander Isak’s transfer from Newcastle to Liverpool for $172 million.
