Employees of the Sabunchu District Police Department conducted operations against the illegal circulation of drugs.
This was reported to Elchi.az from the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the operations, 29-year-old Mirtarlan Asgarzade and a 37-year-old woman, suspected of being involved in drug trafficking, were detained.
More than 16 kilograms of marijuana, methamphetamine and opium with psychotropic substances were found in these people. In their statements, the detainees stated that they obtained the drugs through Iranian citizens they met on social networks and would deliver them to different addresses in the capital for a fee. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the facts, and investigations are ongoing.
It should be noted that during the operations carried out by police officers in Sabunchu district since the beginning of this year, 37 kilograms of various types of drugs were seized from illegal circulation.
