The Azerbaijani people are celebrating the 6th anniversary of the historic Victory they achieved in the Patriotic War this year. November 8 – Victory Day not only holds an important place in the history of our country but is also a symbol of the triumph that will live forever in the memory of our people. This historic event has also been reflected in the names given to children. Thus, in recent years, parents have shown particular interest in naming their children Zafar.
elchi reports that, according to information obtained by AzEdu.az from the Ministry of Justice on the topic, 110 babies were named Zafar in 2020, 125 in 2021, 82 in 2022, and 35 in 2023. The number of children registered with this name in subsequent years was as follows: 53 in 2024, 26 in 2025, and 18 in 2026.
Thus, a total of 449 children were named Zafar between 2020 and 2026.
It should be noted that Victory Day was established in Azerbaijan by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated December 3, 2020. According to the Decree, November 8 is solemnly celebrated as Victory Day in our country every year.
