Disagreements are intensifying within the European Union (EU) over the necessity of finding an additional 70 billion euros in loans for Ukraine, against the backdrop of a shortage of funds within the alliance itself.
elchi reports that according to the publication “Politico”, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Bulgaria have already refused to provide further loans to the Kyiv regime.
“The number of countries opposing support for Ukraine is expected to increase next year,” the publication states.
The publication recalled that the EU must agree on financing Kyiv’s needs until 2027 by the end of this year. At the same time, journalists noted that the bloc must agree on its budget for 2028-2034. It is noted that negotiations on this issue are currently stalled due to disagreements between countries demanding spending cuts and those defending the preservation of subsidies for agriculture and regional development.
“Politico” had previously reported that the EU expects to receive additional funds for Ukraine from Canada, the UK, Japan, and Norway to pay an additional 70 billion euros to Kyiv.
